Jewell Grain Company held its first stockholder’s meeting on April 4, 1912, and was capitalized for $12,000. On March 18, 1943, the articles of incorporation were amended to make the company into a cooperative organization. Today the company has assets of over 21 million dollars. The company is currently owned by over 800 stockholders who elect members of the board at the annual meeting in March.

Jewell Grain Company has 42 full-time employees at its three locations in Northwest Ohio: Jewell, Okolona, Ney, Mark Center, and Hicksville. 

Jewell Grain Company merged with Hicksville Grain on July 1st, 2021.

Brent Petersen has served as general manager since 1998.

The story of the Jewell Grain Company has been one of continued progress from the beginning. This business would not have progressed without the support of the loyal patrons of the Company, neither could it have been continued without the untiring efforts of those who managed and directed its years of progress.
